Ballet Classes:

Ballet classes are designed to meet the needs and abilities of children from the age of three. Commencing with simple movements based on story ideas, young children work to develop confidence, coordination and imagination. From the age of five, they study the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) covering ballet, free movement and character dancing and at the teachers' discretion they have the option to take examinations. Kingston Ballet School offers classes in both the Graded exams of the RAD, covering the grades pre-primary to grade 8, and also the RAD Vocational exams, Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 1. This gives greater opportunities to students who wish to develop their dancing to a more professional level.

Modern and Tap Classes:

The school offers Tap and Modern Dance lessons from the age of five. The syllabi of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) are studied for both tap and modern dance promoting fitness and coordination. Dance routines, influenced by Shows seen in the West End and jazz dance, are learnt developing rhythm and spatial awareness. They inspire self-expression and performance quality. The opportunity to take exams is offered.
